The Sun Company CSO Takes on a Leadership Role in Shaping the Future of Energy

We are thrilled to announce that our Chief Science Officer, Kevin Meagher, has been chosen to co-lead the Grid of Grids Interconnection Committee for Emerge Alliance. Alongside Gary Oppedahl, Vice President of Emera Technologies, Kevin will play a crucial role in defining a standard for the interconnection of microgrids based on dc-coupling technology.

At The Sun Company, we believe in the power of renewable energy to create a better future for all of us. This leadership role for Kevin is a testament to our commitment to advancing our mission of democratizing and optimizing the mass adoption of renewable energy.

The Grid of Grids Microgrids Interconnection Committee is seeking engaged Emerge Alliance members who want to impact the marketplace. Microgrid equipment and system manufacturers, power system and grid engineers, utility and third-party power system experts, academics, and other related subject matter experts are encouraged to participate so that diverse perspectives and use cases are considered when drafting the standards.

If you're interested in participating in this important work or learning more about the standard-setting process, please reach out to David Geary at dgeary@emergealliance.org.

We couldn't be more proud of Kevin and the impact he'll have on shaping the future of energy. Stay tuned for updates as the committee works to define the standards for interconnecting microgrids with dc-coupling technology.
